We are running into an issue where SSMove is now expanding Thin disks into Thick again. Although this didn't happen previously on LM 4.0.4, just today I used SSMove to move some items with thin disks and the disks are now thick provisioned on the destination LUN. We have run updates on our ESX hosts since the last time SSMove was moving thin disks and retaining them as thin. This is the only environmental change I can think of. Could is be possible that an ESX code upgrade changed this behavior? We are running version 4.1 build 1682698.

Unable to format vmdk sitting on a NAS / NFS
Hello, I have a NAS connected via ethernet runnnig NFS. I successfully mounted it as a datastore and created a .vmdk on it that maps to a Windows 2012 VM. The VM can see the disk, but when I try to mount it in the OS and Windows tries to do the initial format, it fails. I'm not really sure what I've done wrong.. there are no permissions on the NAS it's wide open and I can write files directly to the datastore in vSphere Client, so it doesn't seem like a permissions issue at all.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

can't import template get message No Virtual Machine selected
hi Guys,
Need help. got Lab Manager which has been fine, yesterday I migrated the VM's that runs Lab Manager and Virtual Centre for LM to a new VC 5.5 environment from VC 4.0, but not changed the VM other than installing the updated VMware tools.
Now whenever I try to import a new template into an Organisation, the window has changed, the panel that has the VM's on VC lists all the VM's fine but it now has a black box with a X in it next to every VM and has "expand" next to it. I put a name in and choose the VM I want to import and it comes up saying "No Virtual Machine selected" even though there obviously is.
Other than this Lab Manager appears to be OK, I've been able to deploy to workspaces etc no problem.
Has anyone seen this?

Windows 7 sysprep fails
We have LM 4.0.1, but the sysprep for Windows 7 is not reliable (x86 and x64). I'd say in 50% of the cases we get caught in a reset loop. We have not found a pattern yet. Has anybody seen this?

Force Initialization Wizard to Run again
Long story short, I messed up my vCenter Server database and I made a new one. I had a LabManager machine connected to the vCenter Server machine. Now users can't login to labmanager to access the VMs. Do I have to rerun the LabManager web initialization wizard so labmanger can readd whatever it needs to the new vcenter database or is there some other solution so LabManager will connect again.
Whenever I try to log in to LabManager now, it gives me a 'Incorrect username or password'.

LabManager and NetApp de-duplication ratio
We will move the storage from an EMC to a NetApp device soon. Does anybody have any figures as to how much the de-duplication helps, in a linked clone environment link Lab Manager? It's about sizing of course. Does anybody have a NetApp model recommendation for about 20 TB usable space on SAS disk (for LM)? Overall we anticipate twice the size.

Labmanager- issue in sharing library configuration
Hi,
I have some configurations in the library which i have saved, I have multiple organizations, i am trying to share a library configuration from from my organization A to a user in organization B. me and other both users are having administrator access.
he can see the configuration in my organization but he can not clone the same to his workspace in HIS organization. though when he tries to clone the configuration he has only my workspaces to copy to.
When i share the config to him, his user name is disabled.
i have tried it doing with all the ways came to my mind but no luck.
i there any way user B (in org B) can copy the user A's (in Org A) configuration to his workspace.
I have attahed the screen shots and steps i tried it with.
Any help would really be appriciated.

Lab Manager 3 reports - SQL Queries - looking for some help

Our management has asked for metrics on the use of Lab Manager so I started looking around and noticed that none of the 3rd party tools support Lab Manager. I started to poke around the SQL database and managed to extract some info however my SQL knowledge is very limited. I am wondering if anyone out there has written their own queries or can help me sort some things out.
I thought I would start a community thread as i'm sure I am not the only one out there looking to do this.
This first query gives you the usernames and deploys in order

ESXI 5.5 Doesn't see full hard drive
Hello all,
I have an ESXI 5.5 host which I've had up for a while (whitebox build) and I've recently replaced one of the internal hard drives due to failure (not raid, directly connected to the SATA controller). The new drive is EXACTLY the same as the one I had in it before, same build, same size etc... However ESXI seems to think its a 3GB hard drive, while its actually a 3TB hard drive. When I look at it through VSPHERE I can't do anything with it like detach it or format it or anything. Am I missing something ? It seems like I've done this before without any trouble and I can't really remember doing anything special I those instances . I simply want to format it as one 3TB partition, but can't figure out how. This is a standalone install of ESXI (the free version) so I don't have Vcentre or anything, but I do have VSPHERE client and VMware workstation to manage it as well as SSH access of course.
Any help is GREATLY appreciated.

Cannot Delete File

I've got recurring jobs to delete file coming from lab manager. We had this issue a while back but I think it was cleared when the Lab Manager was restarted for the Windows Updates that were pushed to it.
How can I deal with this without bouncing the service? Is that the only way to fix this?
Lab Manger 4.0 against vSphere 4.0.

I am getting an error while running workflow named "vCloud Director - Add a Gateway" on vCO.

I have vCloud Director 8.10.1 and vRealize Orchestrator 7.0.1 on my environment.
I have installed vCloud Director Plugin on vCO successfully and I can run any workflow about vCloud Director such as Create Organization, Create VDC or anything else. But i am getting following error while running Edge Gateway creation workflow ;
Cannot convert compact to com.vmware.vmo.plugin.vcloud.model.schema.objects.GatewayInterfaces (Dynamic Script Module name : createGatewayConfiguration#4)
I ran this worflow on other vCloud Director environment for test purpose but getting same error.
Do you have any idea about this error ?

Cant change type of parameters
I´m adding new composite types and there is a time when i can't change type of parameters (so i can't add composite types too). When this happend I remove a composite type, restart orchestrator client and i can change types again. I create a new composite type and again orchestrator do nothing when I try to change types
What is going on?

Some REST Operations aren't imported with package
I have a package containing 400 or so workflows, actions, and resources. I recently added a bunch of new workflows that make use of a new REST host and 20 or so operations. I added the new workflows (created with the 'Create a new workflow from a REST operation') to the package and exported the package. The workflows all imported OK on my production server, and the REST host was created. However, a third or so REST operations didn't come over (and the attribute in those workflows is showing as "not found"). Does anyone know if there is a way to force import REST operations? I exported the package to a folder and the ResourceElement folder has an XML file in it named the GUID of the REST host. In the XML I see definitions for all the operations. So they are there, they just aren't importing.
(I do have a VMware SDK case open for this, but they aren't sure what the problem is yet either, so I figured I'd ask the community as well).

GlobalPluginNotificationHandler notifyElementsInvalidate not firing
Hi,
I am learning about creating a VRO plugin using the SDK and the spring template and I need some guidance. I call the notifyElementsInvalidate method of the GlobalPluginNotificationHandler which is autowired but I thing it does not fire. I have debug statements in the InvalidateAll and Invalidate(x,x) methods of my factory class, but nothing happens there. Any help or sample code would be appreciated. I think I am just not wiring things up properly.

Can't add resource category to package with vRO 7.1 REST API
I am trying to add a Resource Element category to a package in Orchestrator 7.1, using the REST API.
The call:
/vco/api/packages/{packageName}/resource_category/System%20Config
always fails with the message that the given folder name doesn't exist:
{"status":404,"message":"Resource category with name System Config doesn't exist"}
I can’t get the call to find anything but top level resource categories. So, it works for “Library” but not for any other “folder” below that top level?!?!
Any tips appreciated.

Presentation values
Hello,
I was wondering if I can create a workflow with input values, like os, cpu for example.
If os = windows, then the default cpu value should be at least 4.
if os = linux, then the default cpu value should be at least 2.
Is that possible ?

fetchAll for type Organization error
Simple find all for type method that seems to be working on 5.5:

But on 7.1 it produces:
Server error : ch.dunes.model.sdk.SDKFinderException: Unable to execute 'fetchAll' for type : Organization : 'java.lang.NullPointerException'
Any clues?
